Membership Categories

If you desire to be involved in or are currently involved in the interior design industry, or related to the interior design and built environment industries, we welcome you to join Interior Design Confederation Singapore (IDCS). Listed below are our various membership categories and their respective eligibility criteria. You can apply to join as a member hereunder:

 

 

Eligibility criteria for Fellow Membership include individuals who:

 

  • Are Professional Members having served in the Executive Committee of IDCS for a minimum of three years; and,
  • Can demonstrate his/her significant contributions to IDCS and to the interior design industry by way of dedication and leadership; and,
  • Must have their application supported by more than half of the Executive Committee* members; and,
  • Must have their application considered and approved by the Executive Committee.

 

The benefits of Fellow membership includes: the use of the conferred distinction of Fellow, voting rights, priority access to member events, discounted rates to member events, networking opportunities and eligibility to serve and hold office in the Executive Committee* and working subcommittees.

Eligibility criteria for Professional Membership include individuals who:

 

  • Have obtained a professional tertiary degree in interior design or closely related spatial design discipline, and, have practised in a professional capacity for a minimum of one year; or,
  • Have obtained a professional tertiary diploma in interior design of minimum three year course or closely related spatial design discipline, and, have practised in a professional capacity for a minimum of three years; or,
  • Can show current and continuous membership as a Professional Member for a minimum period of two years from an equivalent professional interior design association; or,
  • Can demonstrate their experience and expertise having practised in a professional capacity for a minimum of five years; and,
  • Are resident in Singapore at the time of application; and,
  • Must have satisfied the Executive Committee* of IDCS of their professionalism and capability according to the prevailing critieria of admittance at the time of application.

 

The benefits of Professional membership includes: voting rights, priority access to member events, discounted rates to member events, networking opportunities and eligibility to serve and hold office in the Executive Committee* and working subcommittees.


Eligibility criteria for Associate Membership include individuals who:

 

  • Meet the criteria of Professional Membership but are not or no longer resident in Singapore; or,
  • Have obtained an undergraduate degree or diploma of minimum three year course from any one of the Singapore based and recognized tertiary academic institutes with an accredited interior design or closely related spatial design discipline; or,
  • Have obtained a professional tertiary degree or diploma of minimum three year course related to the interior design and built environment industries, and, have practised in a professional full time capacity for a minimum of one year; or,
  • Can show current and continuous membership as an Associate Member for a minimum period of two years at another professional association related to the interior design and built environment industries; and,
  • Must have satisfied the Executive Committee* of IDCS of their professionalism and capability according to the prevailing critieria of admittance at the time of application.
  • Can demonstrate their experience and expertise having practised in a professional capacity for a minimum period of 3 years
  •  

    The benefits of Associate membership includes: access to member events, discounted rates to member events, networking opportunities and eligibility to serve in the working subcommittees.

     


Eligibility criteria for Corporate Membership include small, medium and large enterprises:

 

  • •who are registered companies or with representative offices in Singapore carrying on business in interior design or related to the interior design or built environment industries in Singapore; or,
  • who are foreign registered companies providing goods and services related to the interior design or built environment industries to Singapore registered interior design businesses; or,
  • who are Singapore based tertiary academic institutes of accredited interior design programmes or closely related to the interior design or spatial design discipline; and,
  • who must have satisfied the Executive Committee* of IDCS of their professionalism and capability according to the prevailing critieria of admittance at the time of application.

 

The benefits of Corporate Membership is based on tiered membership levels and generally includes: transferable memberships for company employees, priority to be a sponsor at member events, access to member events, discounted rates to member events, networking opportunities and eligibility to serve in working subcommittees.


Eligibility criteria for Student Membership include individuals who:

 

  • Are currently enrolled as a full time student in any one of the Singapore based and recognized tertiary academic institutes awarding an undergraduate degree or diploma in interior design or closely related spatial design discipline of minimum three year course; or,
  • Are currently enrolled as a student in any one of the Singapore based and recognized tertiary academic institutes awarding a postgraduate degree in interior design or closely related spatial design discipline of minimum one year course; and,
  • Are resident of Singapore at the time of application.

 

The benefits of Student Membership includes: student membership fee, access to member events, discounted rates to member events, networking opportunities and eligibility to serve in the working subcommittees.

Executive Committee*

The Executive Committee refers to the body of elected Professional Members also referred to as Council.
