About IDCS


The Interior Design Confederation is a non-profit organization and a registered society under Singapore law.

Members of IDC(S) are individual designers qualified to provide interior design and related services.


IDCS is committed to encourage and support creativity and competence in the field of interior design through facilitating best practice, practical professional support, development opportunities and education.


The mission of IDCS is to:


  • Promote a clearer understanding of our profession
  • Raise the profile of our members
  • Increase the level of professionalism of our members, thereby elevating the respect and status of these professionals and the profession as a whole within the business community.
  • Managing corporate and individual expectations with regards to the level of service our members provide under fair contractual conditions.
  • The collection and sharing of information relevant to the conduct and execution of our profession in Singapore.


Registered in 2003, IDC(S) evolved from the merger of two professional organizations – the Interior Designers Association founded in 1984 and the Society of Interior Designers founded in 1994, which had similar goals and objectives.


It works closely with government departments, institutions, interior suppliers & trade companies, local and international design associations to provide relevant and updated information to its members.


It is a member of the following organizations:


  • DesignS (An Alliance of Singapore Design Profession Organization) – 2004
  • APSDA (Asia Pacific Space Designers Association) – 1997
  • IFI (International Federation of Interior Architects/Designers) – 1995.
