Khoo Peng BengKhoo Peng Beng
Co-founder, ARC Studio Architecture + Urbanism

Adjunct Associate Professor Khoo Peng Beng is the co-founder of ARC Studio Architecture + Urbanism, an award-winning firm with projects spanning Singapore, Malaysia, China, India, Cambodia, Timor Leste, and Rwanda. He and his wife, Belinda Huang, were conferred the President’s Design Award Designer of the Year in 2020 for their design excellence and contributions to the community. A passionate educator at the National University of Singapore for over 20 years, Peng Beng inspires Master’s students with a focus on creativity, sustainability, and integral ecology. His groundbreaking project, The Pinnacle@Duxton, has redefined high-rise public housing and won numerous international awards. He has also led and curated major exhibitions such as Singapore’s Venice Biennale pavilions and ArchiFest 2022.

Belinda HuangBelinda Huang

Belinda Huang is the co-founder of ARC Studio Architecture + Urbanism and a recipient of the President’s Design Award Designer of the Year 2021 alongside her husband, Khoo Peng Beng. She has worked on notable projects across Singapore, Malaysia, China, India, Myanmar, Cambodia, and Rwanda. Deeply passionate about the human dimension of architecture, Belinda believes that great design can inspire and transform lives. Her humanistic approach, centred on emotion and empathy, shapes both her professional work and her teaching at the National University of Singapore. Her celebrated project, The Pinnacle@Duxton, reflects her meticulous attention to detail and commitment to meaningful design. She also holds a Master’s in Counselling and volunteers as a pro bono counsellor, helping youths and young adults find purpose and clarity in their lives. Belinda co-curated Singapore’s 2010 Venice Biennale pavilion, 1000 Singapores, which is now part of the Asian Culture Complex’s permanent collection in South Korea.

Cameron Woo, founder of Cameron Woo Design (CWD), is celebrated as one of the world’s top interior designers. His firm has been featured in the interior design bible, Andrew Martin Interior Design Review, the Oscars of the interior design world, and has won multiple awards from the International Property Awards, London for World’s Best Interior Design, Asia Pacific’s Best Interior Design and for Singapore. CWD’s clientele include many of the world’s leading property developers such as Kerry Properties, Swire Properties, Capitaland Residential, Ho Bee Group and Mulpha International. Cameron Woo has been invited to speak at international interior design conferences such as 100% Design, China International Interior Design Cultural Festival, One to One with World Class Designers and Hong Kong International Lighting Fair. CWD has collaborated with some of the world’s largest consumer and prestige brands such as Dulux, Louis Vuitton and Philips Lighting. Cameron is a panellist on Akzonobel’s Colour Futures and has also been the guest judge and mentor on the hit international interior design reality television show The Apartment TV.


Judging Criteria

The jury panel will be responsible for judging each entry submission based on a score out of ten (10) with average scores of 6-7/10 receiving a Bronze award, 7-8/10 a Silver award and 8-10/10 a Gold award. Entries with the highest score per category will be announced as the winner of the category and will be revealed at the DEA 2024 Awards Gala Evening.

  1. Design Brief – How well the Design solution responds to and meets the Client’s design brief and functional requirements.
  2. Innovation and Creativity – What innovation or creativity does the design solution provide that is original in concept and excellent in execution.
  3. Space Plan/Layout – How well the layout plan meets the function brief, taking into consideration GFA constraints and circulation flow.
  4. Aesthetics – What was the design intent and how well did the end result vary from the initial design intent. Was the design aesthetic achieved based on the delivered design solution? 
  5. Project Schedule – Was the project completed on time and to budget?
