CHI WING LOCHI WING LO
Founder, DIMENSIONE CHI WING LO

Recipient of the World’s Outstanding Chinese Designer Award 2015, Chi Wing Lo’s works encompass the fields of architecture, sculpture, interior, furniture and object design. His prolific output has long been recognised, in and beyond the eminent circle of contemporary Italian design, for his evocativeness in thought, gracefulness in form and meticulousness in every detail.

Lo is also the founder of DIMENSIONE CHI WING LO Italia, a brand of furniture designed and made in Italy under his direction. His aspiration for timelessness has brought his designs to international attention and many of his earlier works continue to be much sought after today.

Raised in Hong Kong, Lo received his Master Degree in Architecture from Harvard University with the best thesis prize in 1988. He had taught at the Syracuse University, NY, and was a member of the Akademie Schloss Solitude in Stuttgart. He served as a visiting critic in different universities and a frequent speaker in design events. Lo has a multidisciplinary practice, integrating art, architecture, interior, furniture and object design for exclusive projects in Milan, Athens, London, Istanbul, Dubai, Shanghai, Beijing and Hong Kong.

Tony Chi
Founder-Director, tonychi.studios

For many decades, tonychi studios design has never been about how a space should look, but rather how it makes one feel. Invisible design as Chi puts it.

When asked what his favorite projects were, his answer is not so direct. Memories change as time passes and likewise spaces do as well. Andaz Tokyo for example is continuously shaped into a different space as each new guest adds their unique personality to the hotel and leaves a lasting impression as they go.

Most important to Chi for every space he designs is the guest feel they created a fond memory during their time.

Founder of tonychi studio and design maverick, Tony Chi established his presence in the world of hospitality through the concept of “invisible design”: by designing for emotional resonance rather than overt style, the fixed aesthetic of his projects transcend time.

Equally known for his steadfast belief in the power of design, infectious enthusiasm towards his work, and relentless ability to challenge design boundaries, Tony Chi was Creative Director of tonychi studio for 35 years. With his stewardship, the Studio became the global design house it is today, collaborating with iconic names such as Rosewood Hotels, Hyatt Hotels Corporations, Four Seasons, The Ritz- Carlton, Mori Buildings, and Mandarin OrientalHotel Group, and establishing landmark developments such as The Carlyle.
