We encourage all interior design practitioners, design students, architects, suppliers, contractors, partners and collaborators of the interior design industry and built environment to join IDCS as a member to help jointly support, promote and elevate the interior design industry in Singapore and across the Asia Pacific region.

If you desire to be involved in, or are currently involved in the interior design industry, or related to the interior design and built environment industries, we welcome you to join Interior Design Confederation Singapore (IDCS). 

Three key objectives of IDCS membership are:

  • RECOGNISE GOOD DESIGN through the design awards, competitions and media coverage.
  • ENHANCE DESIGN COMPETENCIES to validate your capability and clearly demonstrate to employers, colleagues and clients, through the professional development programme.
  • DEVELOP INDUSTRY PRACTICES for the recognition of interior design/ designers as a profession/ professional. Establish network with local and international interior design & related businesses & professionals to gain insights of industry and technology trend for your practice.

Individual Categories

Fellow Member

S$120 Annually

For Professional Members who have either served in the Executive Committee of IDCS for a minimum of 3 years, or obtained 400 PDP points within 3 years.

Fellow Member

Eligibility Criteria

  • Are Professional Members having served in the Executive Committee of IDCS for a minimum of three years; or professional member who obtained 400 PDP points within 3 years
  • Can demonstrate his/her significant contributions to IDCS and to the interior design industry by way of dedication and leadership;
  • Must have their application supported by more than half of the Executive Committee members;
  • Must have their application considered and approved by the Executive Committee

  • Voting rights of 3 shares;
  • Eligibility to serve and hold office in the Executive Committee* and working subcommittees;

Professional Member

For practitioners in interior design or closely related spatial design discipline and are residents of Singapore.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Have obtained a professional tertiary degree in interior design or closely related spatial design discipline, and, have practised in a professional capacity for a minimum of one year; or
  • Have obtained a professional tertiary diploma in interior design of minimum three year course or closely related spatial design discipline, and, have practised in a professional capacity for a minimum of three years; or,
  • Can show current and continuous membership as a Professional Member for a minimum period of two years from an equivalent professional interior design association; or,
  • Can demonstrate their experience and expertise having practised in a professional capacity for a minimum of five years; and,
  • Are resident in Singapore at the time of application; and,
  • Must have satisfied the Executive Committee* of IDCS of their professionalism and capability according to the prevailing criteria of admittance at the time of application.

Associate Member

For practitioners who meet criteria for Professional Membership but are not residents of Singapore, or graduates in interior design or closely related spatial design discipline.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Meet the criteria of Professional Membership but are not or no longer resident in Singapore; or,
  • Have obtained an undergraduate degree or diploma of minimum three year course from any one of the Singapore based and recognised tertiary academic institutes with an accredited interior design or closely related spatial design discipline; or,
  • Have obtained a professional tertiary degree or diploma of minimum three year course related to the interior design and built environment industries, and, have practised in a professional full time capacity for a minimum of one year; or,
  • Must have satisfied the Executive Committee* of IDCS of their professionalism and capability according to the prevailing criteria of admittance at the time of application.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Are currently enrolled as a full time student in any one of the Singapore based and recognised tertiary academic institutes awarding an undergraduate degree or diploma in interior design or closely related spatial design discipline of minimum three year course; or,
  • Are currently enrolled as a student in any one of the Singapore based and recognised tertiary academic institutes awarding a postgraduate degree in interior design or closely related spatial design discipline of minimum one year course; and,
  • Reside in Singapore.
